Handy Tech has created Sophie as a reading system which converts printed text in natural sounding speech by using the latest improvements in speech output technology. Being blind or visually impaired you can now handle your daily reading of printed information yourself.
No matter how you place the text on the built-in scanner of Sophie, even text with columns, Sophie automatically recognizes the text. This is how you can listen comfortably to any text. Due to the fact that you can turn off the column recognition, you can even let Sophie read your statement of account.
Navigating within the text and save it
You can navigate within the text by using the navigations keys.
If you plug in a USB stick or a MP3 Player, Sophie will save the text in audio format.
Optional Braille Output
When connecting a Handy Tech Braille display, Sophie additionally offers Braille output beside the speech. Within seconds, printed text will be converted into Braille. By using a Braille display, it is also possible to navigate through the text by word, by line, by paragraph and even by head line.
